Back to blogging....
Some of you may know that I have dabbled in blogging in the past. I find it much easier to write about a full week or a big experience this way than I do with a few clips throughout our week and overload on pictures like on other platforms. Blogging almost checks you in a way that you need to put together a well written post instead of a quick snip it filled with spelling errors and more pictures than needed because you couldn't choose between them. On other platforms I almost find myself trying to compare aspects of my life that aren't comparable and then I would try to alter what I posted to fit that comparison. The blogs I have done in the past have been a mixture of family experiences and also some fun DIY pinterest attempts. I plan the same for this blog. This is a safer area for me to share a bit about my family and the things we do so that our families can choose to stay updated with us. I no longer believe it is my duty to constantly reach out and update our families on exciting or non exciting things. We have put in that work for 13 years with very little return. So since we do currently live a more nomadic lifestyle and can not always get back to our home town for visits...this is a perfect place to allow those family members the option to still keep in touch. We do have phones but not a lot of our big family uses them to keep up to date. Our friends fall within the same dynamic.
At the end of this month (June 2020)... I will be deactivating my facebook and plan to use this platform as my main platform. This decision is actually one I have been contemplating for almost 5 years...blogging is just more work than an app on your phone so I have been really lazy about finally deciding. This year has certainly pushed me to finally make my decision and just get it done. Currently we are half way done with this year...and we still have tons of things that will be happening. We have some vacations to take, birthdays to celebrate, our puppy is having some major surgeries, school year will restart with what will be our new "norm" ( even that we are very unclear with what that will look like and if homeschooling will be better or not) and many more unplanned moments I am sure will make their presence known. I plan to be a bit transparent in what I post while still keeping the privacy of limiting what I am putting out onto the internet.
If you choose to stick around thank you. If you choose to not stick around thank you also. Life is hard enough to navigate without worrying about all the 2 cents people would love to chime in about your life or your family's life. I hope to keep this a drama free area...but I also plan to add in new information that we have learned about. I may also ask the kids to verbally tell me things they would like to add in...I may add in later a segment for just Austin and a segment for just Madison. I am hoping to continue Madison's reading corner but that will determine my technological understanding of uploading videos to a blog. So as for now...welcome to our family blog ( or welcome back if you have been with us on our past blogs). I hope you enjoy the content we choose to share.
